Tijdens de tweede editie op 20 februari komen er verschillende artiesten voorbij met ieder geheel hun eigen discipline. Na het programma is er om 21:00 een aftertalk via zoom. Teddy’s last Ride: Save Sex gaat over Twee dudes die in een waardeloze auto zitten. Een DJ en een millennial – pratend over de onvermijdelijke realiteit van het leven: vallen is makkelijker dan opstaan. Of het nu door de zwaartekracht of een klinische depressie komt, het gesprek wordt onderbroken door een botsing – de impact ervan neemt je mee op een absurde trip door de duisternis van het onderbewustzijn. Safe Sex – The Movie is een multidimensionale reis naar zelfontdekking. De film geeft je het gevoel dat je middenin een muziekclip bent terechtgekomen.Door middel van een archetypische benadering, leiden de hoofdrolspelers van Safe Sex je door een ‘Stranger Things’-achtige wereld. Het is een feest, een persoonlijke rave met dope beats, film, theater, dans, queer esthetiek en een transformatie. Het is echt. Wat is echt? Maakt het uit? Binnenkort is het allemaal voorbij.

Kimberly Harvey: Kimberley is een danskunstenaar en choreograaf uit het London. Ze maakte een dansfilm ‘Between and Almost’, een duet-samenwerking tussen haarzelf en de Ierse acteur Mark Fitzgerald. ‘Between and Almost’ verkent de fijne handelingen en evoluerende aard van menselijke relaties door middel van de nuances van non-verbale communicatie. Geleid door de camera, maar wat zie je?

Platform-K: Wat als je niet meer dicht bij mekaar kan dansen en fysieke afstand de regel wordt? Dan zoeken we extra ruimte op. In de zomer van 2020 werkten 8 Platform-K via individuele trajecten aan solo’s, duetten en groepscompositie. Hoe verhouden we ons tot mekaar en tot de ruimte? Elk binnen zijn/haar kot, samen vanop afstand. Ontdek hoe de sereniteit en concentratie zich stillaan ontrolt tot een dynamisch geheel van bewegingen. En hoe we ondanks afstand een gedeelde interne en externe ruimte kunnen opzoeken.

2deform: Collective 2Deform is opgericht door Danielle Huyghe en Nathalie Vermeiren. Ze studeerden in 2020 af als Danser / Maker aan de ArtEZ Hogeschool voor de Kunsten. Zowel Danielle als Nathalie doen een doorlopend artistiek onderzoek naar de vervreemding van het menselijke, fysieke lichaam. De gemeenschappelijke interesse voor het onderwerp vervreemding resulteert in een bron van inspiratie en onderzoek, het drijft hun creaties en praktijk samen. Ontkoppeling toont een kunstmatige context waarin twee personages geen verbinding maken met het dagelijks leven.Een zeer precieze en gearticuleerde bewegingstaal geeft vorm aan deze kunstmatige weergave van de werkelijkheid. De steriele omgeving articuleert de ontkoppeling van herkenbare handelingen en neemt de toeschouwer mee in een kunstmatige wereld, getrokken uit een vergeten verleden over hoe je je als mens moet gedragen. De twee personages leiden het publiek door een gewijzigde weergave van de werkelijkheid.
Misiconi Dance Company: De voorstelling Masks is een korte familievoorstelling en onderzoek dat voortvloeit uit het eerdere werk Walkie Talkie Wilderness. Het gaat over een universeel thema als ‘ontmoeting’. Er wordt gespeeld met de emotie en non-verbale communicatie die zich uit in het gezicht en of masker. De communicatie die hierin ontstaat zal non-verbaal en interactief zijn met het publiek. Samen met de dansers maak je een korte route. Dit kan zijn door de buurt, door een gebouw, over stoep, of over een festivalterrein. Dit keer digitaal achter je laptop.

Teddy’s last ride: Two dudes sitting in a shitty car. A DJ and a millennial – talking about the inevitable reality of life: it’s easier to fall than it is to rise. Be it gravity (or clinical depression) the conversation is interrupted by a collision – an impact that thrusts you into an absurd journey through the darkness of the subconscious.
Safe Sex – The Movie is a multi-dimensional trip into self discovery. The cinematic installation makes you feel like walking into an elaborate music video. Through the eyes of the archetypical human, the characters of Safe Sex will lead you through a Stranger Things kind of world. It’s a party, a personal rave featuring dope beats, cinema, theatre, dance, queer aesthetics and transformation. It’s real. What’s real anyways? Who cares? It’ll all be over soon.

Platform-K: What if you can no longer dance close to each other and physical distance becomes the rule? Then we look for extra space. In the summer of 2020, 8 Platform-K worked on solos, duets and group composition via individual tracks. How do we relate to each other and to space? Each within his / her room, together from a distance. Discover how serenity and concentration gradually unfold into a dynamic set of movements. And how we can look up a shared internal and external space despite distance.

2Deform: Collective 2Deform is founded by Danielle Huyghe and Nathalie Vermeiren. They graduated as Dancer/Maker at the ArtEZ University of the Arts in 2020. Both Danielle and Nathalie conduct an ongoing artistic research on the alienation of the human, physical body. The common interest for the topic of alienation results in a source of inspiration and research, it drives their creations and practice together. Ontkoppeling shows an artificial context in which two characters fail to connect with daily life. A very precise and articulated movement language, shapes this artificial display of reality. The sterile environment articulates the disconnection of recognizable actions and takes the spectator along into an artificial world, drawn from a forgotten past on how to behave as a human being. The two characters take the audience through an altered depiction of reality.
Misconi Dance Company: The performance Masks is a short family performance and research that from the work Walkie Talkie Wilderness. It is about a universal theme such as ‘meeting’. They play with the emotion and non-verbal communication that is expressed in the face and / or mask. The communication that arises here will be non-verbal and interactive with the audience. Together with the dancers you make a short route. This could be through the neighborhood, through a building, across a sidewalk, or across a festival site. This time digital behind your laptop.
